Mit dem Brandner auf die Wiesn
In the organizer's words:
To mark the end of Oktoberfest, the Munich Volkstheater, in collaboration with the "Boandlkramerei" musicians' tent at the Oidn Wiesn, is once again presenting the "Wiesn Brandner." After attending the 1:30 p.m. performance at the Münchner Volkstheater, the celebration continues at the Wiesn starting at 5:00 p.m. together with the cast. The combo ticket includes admission to the performance (including an MVV ticket), entry to the “Oide Wiesn,” a reserved seat in the “Boandlkramerei” music tent, a Maß of beer, and a three-course meal.
More information about the play: Kaspar Brandner outwits Death. When the Boandlkramer comes to take him away, he gets him drunk on cherry brandy and tricks him out of a few more years of life during a card game. However, word of this reaches St. Peter, the gatekeeper of heaven. He tolerates no deviations from the divine course of fate. This leaves the Boandlkramer with only one option: to let Brandner get a taste of the joys of eternal paradise on a trial basis.
The eternal drama of life and death is a comedy here—because a single individual is able to outwit the omnipotence of death and the heavenly forces of fate with his cunning and stubbornness.
