Kristian Bezuidenhout is not only a sensitive keyboard artist and expert in historical performance practice, more and more often one can experience him as a conductor. He is currently the artistic director of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, with whom he is interpreting Handel's "Dixit Dominus."
"The knowledge and experience of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra is really incredible," says Kristian Bezuidenhout, who conducts the orchestra and accompanies it on the harpsichord. "With a baroque orchestra, you have this infinite variety of sound possibilities." Such is the case with Handel's "Dixit Dominus," the composer's earliest surviving sacred work, written during his study tour of Italy. He composed the motet "Silete venti" when he was already a very successful composer in London.
