Vernissage: Friedensgeschichten in Zeiten des Krieges

Vernissage: Friedensgeschichten in Zeiten des Krieges

In the organizer's words:

Images of war and violence currently dominate the news. And yet they still exist - people who overcome enmities and work towards coexistence without violence. All too often , their commitment and their stories remain invisible. On this evening, they will become visible: a new exhibition by forumZFD presents ten people who have experienced war and flight themselves and who are using these experiences to campaign for peace. At the vernissage, you will get to know the moving stories of these people and also hear from activists from Cologne who show that commitment can sometimes start right on your own doorstep.

Two "faces of peace" will take center stage this evening: Anastasia from Russia and Yuliia from Ukraine. Anastasia studied acting and has already worked as a theater teacher and director in various countries around the world. Yuliia grew up near Dnipro in the Ukraine, studied psychology and initially worked as a teacher. Both women had to leave their home country because of the war. Today they live in Germany. With "Playback", a form of improvisational theater, they create spaces for dialogue and encounters, including between people from Russia and Ukraine. At the vernissage, the two will perform with their theater group and convey a lively impression of how art overcomes borders and enables understanding.

Come along, we look forward to seeing you! Admission is free, please register in advance:
