Friedrich Ani liest aus seinem Buch Schlupfwinkel
In the organizer's words:
Fantasies of a Foreign Homeland
A small village in Bavaria, in the late 1950s: A child is born from a union that no one here would have thought possible. The mother is from Silesia and is one of the “displaced persons” who settled in the village a decade earlier. The father is a medical student from Syria who comes to the village to study German at the Goethe-Institut. When they first met, they had no common language, and their ability to communicate with one another remained fragile throughout their lives. Thus, the child grows up in an atmosphere of silence, searching for a refuge for his own existence and finding it in literature.
*Schlupfwinkel*describes the career of an author who, though he finds his own voice and achieves success with it, remains a lost soul in life.
