Kenna Rowan (Maika Monroe) returns to her hometown after five years in prison, hoping to see her four-year-old daughter again. But the traces of her past make it difficult for her. The people who took care of the child during her absence are determined to keep Kenna away from her. Despite her efforts, she encounters rejection and mistrust everywhere she goes. One exception is Ledger Ward (Tyriq Withers), the owner of the local bar and one of the last remaining connections to her daughter.
