A LOOSE END
UY/AR/ES 2025 | 95 MIN. | OMEU | Dir.: DANIEL HENDLER, starring S. PRINA, P. GAMBOA, A. WOLF
Santiago, an Argentine police officer on the run from his own colleagues, crosses the border into Uruguay. There, he cleverly uses his uniform as a disguise to inspect local food stalls, sample dairy products and cold cuts, and make ends meet—always careful not to draw attention to himself. Without a peso in his pocket or a roof over his head, but armed with warmth and quick wit, he cautiously begins to build a new life for himself. The endearing loners he encounters along the way become unexpected companions—and one very special encounter leads him to believe he has finally found the love of his life.
Daniel Hendler’s third feature film combines western, thriller, and romantic comedy with dry humor to create an unconventional road movie that celebrated its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2025.
