FurStation: We Shall Meet at the End

Performance with Meii Soh

FurStation: We Shall Meet at the Endby multidisciplinary artist Meii Soh challenges binary notions of nature and technology. The immersive performance affirms that nature itself transcends the boundaries of human categories and that digital technologies—rather than serving as tools of oppression—can function as potential spaces for care, otherness, and world-making. In a hybrid setting that combines video, movement, and multisensory elements, the work conceives of video games as a framework for playful action and self-perception that fosters healing, diversity, and emancipatory self-renewal. 

The performance explores how virtual environments can open up spaces that experiment with alternative forms of embodiment and relationship, enabling marginalized bodies to imagine themselves beyond dominant social categories. The artist performs as a queer NPC (non-playable character), accompanied by virtual hunting dogs. Through this work, Soh reinterprets human, non-human, and digital beings as entities that navigate the roles of control and solidarity, thereby practicing empathy and transformation. 

For theLong Night of Museums, Meii Soh stages a performative experience in which virtual and physical environments create and reshape anti-patriarchal and anti-colonial ways of being.
