Twenty-five years. That's a long time when you spend it together. The band Garish has this "silver" now in front of the chest and a big common and in addition many small stories in the heart, brain and under the hood. For the occasion, they not only tell them themselves, but also let them tell: On the record "Hands up, I can suffer you", which will be released in May 2023, friends and companions, but also musicians:inside from other artistic dimensions gather around the band. They recalibrate a potpourri of Garish songs - some with, some without the original performers; some well-seasoned, but also completely new. This "resocialization project," as the band itself calls it, brings to light amazing facets of a musical group whose often unappreciated pioneering role in Austrian indie pop is ultimately undisputed. The six, seven or eight Amadeus nominations make one ascribe the status of a Martin Scorsese rather than being an indictment: The intransigence and longevity of the work and creation shine far greater. The essential thing for Thomas Jarmer, Julian Schneeberger, Kurt Grath and Markus Perner was always something else anyway: the joy of the stage - and they didn't let it take away from them, on the contrary: "The stories I have are already worth the trouble", as it says so beautifully in "Dann fass ich mir ein Herz". A Garish concert: More than ever an emotional high mass - also and especially for the anniversary, with guests. "Hände hoch, ich kann dich leiden" will be released in May 2023 as a vinyl LP and on all digital platforms. At the concerts in Vienna (28.05.) and Oslip (17.05.) guests from the album will be on stage with the band. Already released from it in December 2022 is the much-praised collaboration of Garish with Ina Regen and Verena Altenberger ("Auf den Dächern").
