As a queer-feminist Berlin band, Gazino Neukölln harks back to the Turkish gazino culture of the 1930s to 1980s, one of the most important nightlife formats with a queer flair. Inspired by this, the band creates a glamorous, kitschy and exciting atmosphere that combines different musical genres from different geographical locations. They reinterpret Turkish and international pop and arabesque hits and free the lyrics from sexist, homophobic and trans-hostile content.
