The project "Of Hands and Music" by artist Ute Krafft transforms the hands of important female musicians into lifelike sculptures and thus preserves them for future generations - as a small section of space and time. It is a non-profit art project, the sculptures are created for exhibitions and remain a permanent part of a museum's collection. There are already more than 300 musicians, including many well-known bands, who have been inspired by the project.
Each exhibition in the "Of Hands and Music" series will be accompanied by one or two small concerts. Musicians whose hand sculptures will be on display will be playing - and at some concerts in the series there will also be musicians whose hands I will be sculpting on the day of their performance.
