Glenn Hughes - 50 Years BURN Tour 2024

Glenn Hughes, the former bassist and vocalist of Deep Purple, known to millions as the "Voice of Rock" and even inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is pleased to announce the "Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live - Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the album BURN" 2024 Europe Tour. Glenn will perform Deep Purple's legendary rock album "BURN" and also play other Deep Purple MKIII and MKIV songs.

Glenn's band includes Soren Andersen (guitar), Ash Sheehan (drums) and Bob Fridzema (keyboards).

50 years ago, in the summer of 1973, Deep Purple's album BURN was written at Clearwell Castle in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire," Glenn recalls. "It was recorded in Montreux, Switzerland, in October."

"It felt like Deep Purple was a new band, with David (Coverdale) and I as new members, and we couldn't wait to start working on new songs," Hughes continues. "The atmosphere was electric, and in such a fantastic environment."

"All the songs on Burn were written in the crypt/dungeon under the great hall. We worked on a new song every day and we were in the flow. We were playing and working out ideas, and David and I were coming up with vocal melodies that we later wrote lyrics to. I remember it like it was yesterday."

"As you can imagine, Ritchie Blackmore was in full joke mode, Jon had warned me, and he rigged my room one night with a hidden speaker and woke me up with ghost voices."

"The title track was the last song to be written. We came back from the pub and went down to the crypt and the magic just happened."

Hughes concludes, "It's time to celebrate BURN and I'm really looking forward to seeing you all at the shows."
