from Rhens to Boppard

From Rhens, we walk halfway up the slope past the village of Brey. A short descent and ascent brings us to Spay. Now the trail climbs steeply up onto the plateau. We soon come to beautiful vineyards on the Rhine and walk along them. A further ascent takes us to the Jakobsberg monastery estate. This is followed by a beautiful forest section with views of the Rhine valley. We reach the exit of the Boppard via ferrata from where we cross over to the Gereonseck and enjoy the fantastic view of various sections of the Rhine (Vierseenblick). The following steep descent below the chairlift takes us to the small town of Boppard, our destination for today.
