GUTes Kino – unterhält, bewegt, inspiriert: Disturbing the Peace

The eighth film in the GOOD Cinema series will be shown on December 13 at 8:00 pm: Disturbing the Peace
The Israeli-Palestinian peace initiative Combatants for Peace has been campaigning for a non-violent settlement of the conflict between the two nations since 2006. The film follows the members of the group and uses personal stories to tell how former enemies turned away from violence and are now working together for peaceful coexistence. It conveys an impressive picture of what it means to grow up in Israel or Palestine and have to live with violence on a daily basis. But the film also shows that it is possible to break out of the spiral of terror, suffering and hatred if you question your own attitude and are prepared to look at the world through the eyes of the "others". In 2017 and 2018, the Combatants for Peace were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for their work.
