Händel on Hands
In the organizer's words:
Händel on Hands is a unique and magical circus music theater adventure that will enchant audiences of all ages! Here, the magic of George Frideric Handel’s music comes to life in a completely new way—through the art of acrobatics.
A cellist, a tenor, a circus director, musicians, and acrobats take the audience on a fantastic journey through the elements of fire, water, air, and earth. *Handel on Hands* premiered in February 2025 and is now being performed outside of Sweden for the first time—at the Forum Leverkusen in a family performance and a smaller school performance.
Director Tilde Björfors, founder and longtime artistic director of the legendary CIRKUS CIRKÖR from Sweden, brought German tenor Thomas Volle on board for the project; he lives in Sweden and has performed as a guest artist at many opera houses and concert halls in Germany. He will also serve as the host for the school performance.
