Harald Weiss is one of the most unusual figures the German music scene has ever produced. Born in the region, active in Hanover, and living in Mallorca for decades, he developed a completely unique artistic language as a composer, drummer, filmmaker, and bridge-builder between the arts.

With this retrospective, Überschlag is dedicating a special morning to one of the great outsiders of German music history. The program features excerpts from films by and about Harald Weiss, selections from his musical oeuvre, and an in-depth conversation about his life, work, and artistic philosophy.

Spanning contemporary music, performance, film, and radical individualism, the program paints a portrait of an artist who, throughout his life, defied categorization.
