\ 'härk \: to listen attentively: TO LISTEN; to pay attention, especially through the act of listening

HARK! is based on Luísa Saraiva and Senem Gökçe Oğultekin's love of baroque music. Their singing bodies allow the audience to experience the sound in a new way. You hear what you see and see what you hear. The singing leaves traces in the room, traces of sound bodies. Together with the musicians Peter Rubel and Nathan Bontrager, they approach a common understanding of movement and sound and recall their personal experiences of listening to and learning music.
Hark! - Hear!
Henry Purcell's Hail! Bright Cecilia and the libretto by Nicholas Brady support the search for an acoustic body that hears, receives, echoes and reverberates.

A production by Luísa Saraiva and K3|Tanzplan Hamburg, co-produced by Teatro Municipal do Porto. The premiere was supported by the NRW Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste, the Ministry of Culture and Science NRW, the Kunststiftung NRW, the Hamburgische Kulturstiftung and the City of Essen. With the support of PACT Zollverein.
