HAUS OHNE DACH tells the journey of siblings LIYA, JAN and ALAN, who were born in the Kurdish region of Iraq and grew up in Germany. The three of them want to fulfill their mother's last wish and bury her in their home village alongside their father, who died in the war. On the nerve-wracking Kurdistan odyssey, they are not only confronted with their extended Kurdish family, who do not accept their mother's last wish, but above all with themselves. They have distanced themselves from each other in recent years, each living their own lives, and when conversations do take place, they mostly consist of mutual accusations.
