HEAVYSAURUS - SommerMusik Schloss Rheydt
In the organizer's words:
Summer Music for Kids
HEAVYSAURUS Take Over Rheydt Castle
Summer fun for the whole family with the famous dino stars
On August 24, 2026, the five green-scaled rock heroes will take the stage at Rheydt Castle. Under the theme “Summer Music for Kids,” this vacation day will become an unforgettable family event full of energy, humor, and metal power.
From the kids’ room to the legendary Wacken Open Air: HEAVYSAURUS bring real metal to the stage for young and old alike. Four dinosaurs and a dragon deliver a spectacular live show where kids and adults alike raise the “Pommesgabel” together.
A Heavysaurus concert is an experience for all the senses: lights, fog, a shower of sparks, balloons, and confetti combine with handmade live music from professional rock musicians in dinosaur costumes. The sound is powerful yet kid-friendly—perfect for metal fans of all ages.
Following the overwhelming success of the “Pommesgabel Tour” in 2024 and 2025—with over 350 sold-out shows—HEAVYSAURUS is now stepping it up a notch. For the show in Mönchengladbach, they’re bringing their brand-new album “Metal,” which will be released in January 2026.
What once began as a crazy idea—rock and metal for kids with heartwarming dinosaur stories, but without compromising on the music—has evolved into a true cult phenomenon. HEAVYSAURUS prove that true headbanging fun knows no age limits. Their songs bridge generations: While kids discover the world of rock, parents rediscover their own passion for music.
And when little hands shoot up in the air during the first song and a loud “Rarrr!” echoes through the venue, one thing is clear: Metal is alive—and it’s for everyone.
“In the anniversary year of SommerMusik, we’d like to present a real highlight to our very young fans as summer vacation ends or school begins,” says organizer Günter vom Dorp, delighted with the deal featuring the dinosaurs.
Info for Parents: The concert is tailored for children ages 3 to 11 and offers entertainment for the
whole family. A dedicated kids’ area right in front of the stage ensures the best view and safety. The show takes place during summer vacation on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 2 p.m.—and don’t worry: the Dinos don’t bite.
