Herr Reff: Was wirklich zählt
In the organizer's words:
Mr. Reff, a teacher and author whose videos on school and social issues reach millions of people on social media, is bringing his experiences as a teacher to the LiveV stage for the first time: As part of his “What Really Matters” tour, he will be coming to Hamburg (Oct. 27), Berlin (Oct. 28), and Cologne (Nov. 21). Tickets are now available on eventim.de and at all major ticket outlets.
In his live show, Mr. Reff takes the audience on an evening filled with personal
stories, surprising insights, and fresh perspectives. Between anecdotes from
his everyday school life, insights into his first book (“Mr. Reff—The Stronger One Listens,” to be published on September 1, 2026, by the Droemer Knaur Publishing Group), well-known social media moments, and spontaneous interactions, he blends entertainment with topics that resonate with many people. Instead of a traditional reading or an educational lecture, the audience can expect a personal, interactive evening with room for connections and dialogue.
The discussion goes far beyond school. He talks about equal opportunity, respect, courage, and solidarity—and about how we can give children and young people the support they truly need. “I want to show what truly matters to children and young people today, why relationships are often more important than grades, and why we need to rethink education. At the same time, I hope it will be an evening filled with laughter, discussion, and looking ahead together,” says Mr. Reff, looking forward to his first tour.
With a focus on school, family, and social interaction, the well-known
education innovator addresses questions that extend far beyond the classroom: How can learning be successful? How can children and teens be supported individually? What does it take to interact respectfully as equals? And how can parents protect their children from exclusion and bullying?
His perspective on education is closely tied to his own life story. As the child of a refugee family, he grew up in modest circumstances after enduring severe hardships. Despite facing exclusion and being recommended for a secondary vocational school on the grounds that he was “unable to integrate,” he fought his way through to earn a degree at Freie Universität Berlin and go on to a successful career as a teacher, author, and creator. His experiences continue to shape his perspective on education, equal opportunity, and the question of how young people can realize their potential.
