In the organizer's words:

The backyard readings in Düsseldorf always take place in an unusual setting in August. 'Reading and writing poetry in the open air'. The authors and initiators love these relaxed gatherings of potential readers, backyard users and writers. Bottles of beer, water or soda are allowed during the reading. Equally important: there is no backstage. Authors and audience are close to each other and meet afterwards. Casual, open conversations ensue.
