It's hard to believe that Hoochie Koo is turning 50! But not in years, but this will be Hoochie Koo's 50th extravaganza.
This is no ordinary party - this will be the culmination of something we could never find the right words for.
8 years of madness, an immersive experience full of daring performances, soaring live and DJ rock'n'roll, riffnenblooze, juke joint anthems, raw soul and groovy grinders.
This series is an art form all of its own, with an incomparable spirit. Primitive and intellectually barrier-free, so up-close and overwhelming, with an incredible energy.
Burlesque and GoGo dancers, performers and legends, trash and glamour, queens and workers, rock stars and bitches - we had people of all colors, shapes and professions at our events. And all without a strict dress code, the selection was based solely on the program's very own taste. There is nothing like it in Berlin or anywhere else.
"Hoochie Koo" is like stepping onto a B-movie set. The 50th time is no exception.
Special guest will be the one and only Reverend Beat-Man, who has already survived several of our events.
He won't be coming alone, but will bring along Milan Slick on keys, as well as performer Lalla Morte from Paris, one of our absolute favorite artists !
Another headliner of the evening is the incredible Gina Stirling, our burlesque star guest from Australia. At Hoochie Koo HQ we have been looking for years for a way to bring Gina here to us in Berlin. She is one of those artists with the energetic touch that we love so much.
And we've added a local but international burlesque headliner to the program - the rock'n'roll showgirl herself: Felicity Felicis.
Producing several extraordinary shows herself, she might be one of the freshest influencers on the Berlin scene in recent years.
But Hoochie Koo is also known for trying out new things.
We have the aerial hoop artist duo Tania G. & Maia, who present the physically impossible... Rock'n'Roll GoGo-in-a-Hoop: The Flying Rhinestone Cowgirls !!!
Speaking of go-go dancing. Hoochie Koo is the only event in town that regularly features GoGo dancers in the original 60s style at every party. It's part of our identity. We're bringing the whole team with us to SO36.
With Valentina DeMonia and Evilyn Frantic, who have all gotten to know very well over the last 8 years.
And we are very proud to introduce our new team members:
Chiqui Love, the GoGo whirlwind from Colombia and Berlin's up-and-coming rock'n'roll queen Bella Khan, daughter of the almighty King Khan. Royalty !
And of course you can expect the hottest tunes from the original Hoochie Krew sound system, with DJ Don Rogall, Marta Karta on the microphone, Florent Mannant on saxophone and Boris Blade on guitar.
The fantastic Real Deal, a local institution and the ultimate insider tip for all rock'n'rollers in Berlin, will be the opening act.
