Dance piece about radicalism | By Hege Haagenrud | World premiere

All the way or not at all! For some, the goal is clear, obvious and normal, for others it's over the top, extreme and incomprehensible. Radicalism divides. The dance piece HYPER NORMAL counters this polarization with an encounter in which the voices of various radical individuals are heard and embodied. What does "being radical" mean? And what connects radical people?

Norwegian choreographer Hege Hagenruud combines interview sequences and documentary material with alienation techniques such as lip-synching and strict movement patterns. This creates a tension between concrete references to the reality of our lives and gestures that are open to interpretation. The dancers circle around a feeling on the border between "too far" and "not yet far enough", which can both mobilize and paralyze us in social interaction, often leaving us angry or speechless.
