In conjunction with the musical homage to Hildegard Knef "So oder so ist das Leben" by Nicole Metzger and her quartet as part of this year's Jazz City Bilk Festival, we do not want to withhold the cinematic portrait of Knef, the film "Ich will alles" by Luzia Schmid, from the interested public.

Hildegard Knef, world star, enfant terrible, grande dame of chanson, diva, fighter, mirror and antithesis of her time: as an actress, singer and author, she was creatively active for more than five decades, celebrated international successes and experienced crushing defeats.

Luzia Schmid tells the moving story of a life taken to the extreme with a fresh, unbiased, intelligent, attentive and empathetic eye. A stirring cinematic autobiography, told with outstanding archive material, interviews and talk show appearances that are unimaginably candid today, with passages from Knef's great books read by Nina Kunzendorf, with the fantastic chansons that run like a thread through the film. "Ich will alles" brings to life the fascination, charm and charisma of Hildegard Knef, her contradictions, nonchalance and indomitable nature, her hunger for life, her wit and her lion's courage: The moving portrait of a unique woman and artist, ambitious, highly sensitive, laconic and astute, who showed the world how to remain true to oneself by constantly reinventing oneself.
