How did lesbians get to know each other around 1920? Why did ladies socialize in the women's club and 'half-silky' wives in the ladies' club? Were lesbians as systematically persecuted under National Socialism as gays? Were they only victims or did they also wield power? We report on the first attempts to define lesbians around 1900, on Catholics who lived their lesbianism in secret and on homosexual "pairings" of well-known women.
