Clara Zetkin stood at the cradle of Marxist feminism and a "feminism of the 99%". Her approach is characterized by a materialist approach to the question of female emancipation, which is not limited to the attempt to overcome sexist stereotypes and gender inequality through a change in consciousness and representation, but pursues the change of consciousness on the way to changing social structures. At the same time, she stands for a feminism that - in contrast to bourgeois feminism - integrates the question of overcoming patriarchy into the struggle to abolish the capital-labor opposition. The event will focus on reconstructing Zetkin's materialist feminism in the light of later feminist debates.
