The Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg has two orchestral earworms by Johannes Brahms and Leoš Janáček in its guest performance case - and a new cello concerto composed by Detlev Glanert for Munich cello virtuoso Johannes Moser.
Of course, Johannes Moser loves the music of Bach and Co. At the same time, he is a big fan of contemporary music. "This is the music that appeals to us at this time." As in the case of the Cello Concerto by Henze student Detlef Glanert, whose European premiere Moser is now playing. After the intermission, Gustavo Gimeno then conducts the famous "Haydn Variations," with which Brahms paid his respects to the Viennese classicist, as well as the brass-saturated Sinfonietta by the Czech Leoš Janáček.
