The multi-award-winning Braunschweig Boys’ Chamber Choir focuses on the work *The Little Match Girl Passion* in its first one-hour concert. David Lang (*1957) based the text on Andersen’s fairy tale *The Little Match Girl* and drew inspiration from Bach’s *St. Matthew Passion* in shaping the form and dramaturgy. The chamber choir is joined by solo singers, who also play simple percussion instruments. Lang received the prestigious American Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2008 for this composition. Poignant lament motets frame the half-hour-long work, including *Lume* ( Light) by Swedish composer Andrea Tarrodi (b. 1981).
