Oliver Kalkofe and Oliver Welke are entertaining, critical, funny - and not only on TV. In September 2022, their new and very first podcast "Kalk & Welk - Die fabelhaften Boomer Boys" was launched in the ARD Audiothek. With this, Kalk & Welk - more than 20 years after their legendary "Frühstyxradio" time - can finally be heard together again on a regular basis.

But that's not all... now the fabulous Boomer Boys are swapping the recording studio for the stage. The two entertainers are coming to Cologne with their live podcast premiere for an exclusive evening to record brand new episodes in front of and with their inclined audience and celebrate them together.

Oliver Kalkofe and Oliver Welke amuse themselves with the latest news from television, politics, culture and society as well as their favorite topics from the 70s, 80s and 90s. They also like to let the audience have a say in the choice of topics. In their cultivated buddy talks, Kalk & Welk shine with amazing background knowledge and draw on their rich experience in the media and humor business.

The careers of Kalk & Welk

The joint story of Oliver Kalkofe (born 1965 in Hanover) and Oliver Welke (born 1966 in Bielefeld) begins in Münster, where they met while studying journalism. Both became known to a larger audience as authors and speakers in the cult comedy show "Frühstyxradio" on Radio ffn. They continued their successful collaboration as authors and actors of the Edgar Wallace parodies "Der Wixxer" (2004) and "Neues vom Wixxer" (2007).

Oliver Kalkofe developed an award-winning TV satire with "Kalkofes Mattscheibe" (since 1994) - many therefore consider him "Germany's sharpest media critic." In the film series "#SchleFaZ," he has been presenting the "worst films of all time" on TELE 5 (with Peter Rütten) since 2013.

Oliver Welke worked as a sports presenter for various TV stations from 1996 to 2018, most recently as a duo with Olli Kahn. Since 2009, he has been the anchorman of the multi-award-winning news satire "heute show" on ZDF.

And what was still missing in view of these radio, cinema and TV careers? The podcast, of course. "Kalk & Welk - Die fabelhaften Boomer Boys" - since September 19, 2022 at 7 p.m. every Monday in the ARD Audiothek and on Wednesdays everywhere podcasts are available. radioeins from rbb, together with SWR, produces the nearly 60-minute episodes every week for ARD. The local organizer of the show series in Cologne is the COLOGNE COMEDY FESTIVAL.
