KARKARA

The band name Karkara - which means "punks" or "stragglers" in Tunisian Arabic - reflects an outsider mentality: the feeling of being left behind in a society that is hurtling straight towards a wall at 240 km/h. When the collision is unavoidable, Karkara prefer to plunge headfirst into a wall of amplifiers with their eyes wide open.

Since 2019, the band has been blending psychedelic rock, stoner, fuzz and oriental influences into energetic, forward-driven tracks. Their sound is based on relentless grooves, heavy walls of fuzz and hypnotic basslines that convey both urgency and trance. With three albums released, including the concept album All Is Dust, Karkara constructs dystopian worlds on record and on stage. Old televisions, live visuals and uninterrupted sets make every performance a continuous audiovisual experience - immersive, physical and overwhelming.

True to the motto "Heavy and apocalyptic riffs tell a story, that doesn't need words", Wasteland Haze blend stoner rock, doom and post-rock into an unfiltered, instrumental and undoubtedly psychedelic experience. From deep doomy riffs to sometimes atmospheric, sometimes playful melodic interludes and groovy stoner parts, the power trio from Düsseldorf offers a broad spectrum of musical finesse. The band deliberately dispenses with vocals and only uses samples and soundscapes to tell a story from the man-made downfall to the reconstruction of civilization on the ruins of our time.
