The Carnival of Cultures sends out a clear signal for a free, sustainable and peaceful society.

It is a joyful statement for an open and diverse society and, in its 25th edition, reflects Berlin's diversity like no other event. People from a wide range of backgrounds and cultural backgrounds come together here to creatively bring their passions, ideas and wishes to the streets and share them with an open-minded audience with Free admission. The daily creative and cohesive work of the participating groups becomes visible to the public on this Whitsun weekend.

Every year, around 4,000 carnival performers conquer the public space during the large street parade on Whit Sunday, showcasing the cultural richness of our city, the diversity of artistic expression and creative approaches to political and socially relevant issues. The parade offers space for Berlin communities who want to show their cultural roots or lead them into a new era. People of all ages and cultural backgrounds from every neighborhood in Berlin have the opportunity to make their concerns visible to the public. The motives and impulses of the participants are as diverse as our city.

At the four-day street festival, Berlin bands find a big stage and enthusiastic listeners. Free admission takes visitors' ears and dancing legs on a musical journey around the world. From Anatolian jazz and Afrobeat to Japanese fusion rock, mestizo music and Balkan beats - clear the stage for the boundless range of Berlin's musical landscape! In the green area of the street festival, committed associations and companies that stand for a respectful approach to the environment meet up with catering from ecologically sustainable businesses and the Berlin 'food truck' movement. At the heart of the festival, the Lawn in Action is a colorful oasis with hands-on activities for young and old. Here there is space for imaginative design, juggling, dancing or simply taking a deep breath. A wide range of culinary delights and arts and crafts from Berlin and around the world round off the street festival.
