In the organizer's words:

To conclude the film series with debut films by KHM graduates, we are presenting Justine Bauer's graduation film from the KHM. The award-winning feature film was released in cinemas nationwide in August after an international festival tour.

"Milk into Fire" (2024, 79 min.) celebrated its premiere at the Munich 2024 Film Festival and was awarded the highly endowed New German Cinema Award for "Best Production" (see press release here). In the same year, the feature film also received the MFG Star Newcomer Award at the TeleVisionale (see press release here) as well as numerous other international film awards.

Justine Bauer was able to realize her graduation film with funding from the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. The camera was directed by KHM graduate Pedro Carnicer, the production was handled by KHM graduate Semih Korhan Güner. Other KHM students and graduates were part of the film team: Renate Mihatsch (production design), Yakob El Deeb (head lighting), Carmen Rivadeneira, Pariya Bakhshi and Sebastian Jaimes (camera assistants), Nils Ramme and Philipp Theiss (lighting technicians), Lynn Al-Abiad (color grading); Helin Korkmaz (sound design); Joreng Jung (additional sound design), Leó Beaudoin, Dirk Rosenlöcher (VFX) as well as Boris Maximov and Valerie Malin Schmid (production management).

A summer in the country, a summer on dying farms. Three generations of farmers' wives live together under one roof. While one is pregnant and contemplating castration, the other may not be able to become a farmer after all and wears her bikini in the milking parlor. Not everyone always agrees, but one thing is certain: never before has Grandma managed the tomatoes as well as this year.
