When Brazilian guitarist, singer and producer Kiko Dinucci and Cologne saxophonist Luise Volkmann met in São Paulo in 2023, it quickly became clear that there was a musical spark. Now the duo are going on tour in Europe - and are stopping off in Dortmund.
What can you expect? An explosive mix of musica popular brasileira (MPB), jazz, acoustic punk and improvisation. Raw energy meets rhythmic sophistication. Kiko Dinucci - founder of the bands Metá Metá and Passo Torto - is considered one of the most influential voices of the Brazilian avant-garde. Luise Volkmann moves with her saxophone somewhere between jazz club, queer pop performance and DIY punk cellar.
The evening will open as a double concert with folk musician Hannah Köpf - two acts, two perspectives on folk, two times musical depth.
For all those who like to discover music off the beaten track.
