TICKLES - THE DANCE OF RAGE

Rewarded with standing ovations from the audience, lauded by critics, and honored with four awards from the dance community: a virtuoso solo by Lucca Züchner, who pulls out all the stops to showcase her talent. With her acting talents, she effortlessly slips into all 12 characters—ranging from the comedic to the profound—and, on top of that, shines in dance sequences spanning everything from classical ballet to show-stopping musical numbers. The subtle direction allows the play’s main character to reach her full potential.

Beneath the light-footed, charming, and humorous narrative of the talented dancer Odette’s life story, however, there is a powerful turmoil simmering, for the attention of a dear family friend quickly escalated from initial inappropriate advances (“tickling”) to outright abuse. After a period of intimidation and silence, dancing becomes an outlet for Odette—a lifeline for her soul—which ultimately gives her the strength to speak out, bring the long-concealed events to light, and examine and expose the questionable roles of everyone involved.
