With Evgeny Konnov, the Cultural Affairs Office welcomes a young, internationally sought-after virtuoso to the concert grand piano at the Haus für Weiterbildung. Combining strategy and intuition, the Uzbek-born pianist has won an impressive number of international prizes. Most recently, these include First Prize at the Maria Canals International Music Competition in Barcelona, the Grand Prix at the Hannover-Beethoven Music Festival and Competition, as well as First Prizes at the International Piano Competition in Cantù and the Alexander Scriabin International Piano Competition in Grosseto, both in Italy.
Evgeny Konnov performs in major concert halls in Spain, South Africa, Portugal, France, Russia, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Malta, Uzbekistan, and Morocco. He performs as a soloist with orchestras such as the Madrid Symphony Orchestra, the Tenerife Opera Orchestra, the George Enescu Philharmonic in Bucharest, and the Wernigerode Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 2024, he has been a piano instructor at the Leopold Mozart College of Music in Augsburg; he gives master classes in Spain, Germany, and South Africa and serves as a jury member at international competitions.
