With their program "Mediterranean Summer Night", the large, seven-member line-up of the Cologne Classical Ensemble performs a special concert in the Humboldt Hall. Baroque, classical and romantic solo concertos by Vivaldi, Boccherini and Tchaikovsky are combined with virtuoso Spanish music by Pablo de Sarasate, Isaac Albéniz and the artful tango works of Astor Piazzolla.
The soloists Alexander Prushinskiy (violin), Lena Kravets (violoncello) and Tobias Kassung (guitar) showcase their instruments in an atmospheric and highly virtuosic way. A delight for connoisseurs and at the same time an experience for all those who perhaps rarely attend a classical concert and want to introduce their children to the captivating world of classical music for the first time.
In 2003, eight students at the Cologne University of Music founded the Kölner Klassik Ensemble. Today - 20 years later - this ensemble has developed into one of the leading collectives for classical chamber music in NRW. Numerous concerts in Germany and abroad as well as the extensive recordings for Sony Classical and KSG Exaudio are proof of the ensemble's exceptional quality and are regularly praised by audiences and critics alike.
Free admission to this concert for children and young people up to and including the age of 14. However, please register at info@koelner-klassik-ensemble.de due to limited seating capacity.
