Do creatures above and below the horizon share a place in our imagination? Does a jellyfish galaxy have anything to do with a jellyfish that lives in the ocean? And does a swarm of sardines resemble a cluster of young stars? Such questions arise when an enthusiastic zoologist talks to passionate astronomers and a digital illustrator transforms the bizarre discussions into unique images.
Under the premise of Senegalese forest engineer Baba Dioum: "In the end, we will only protect what we love, we will only love what we understand and we will only understand what we are taught", a group of five women launched a project. Their mission: to introduce the general public to pairs of astronomical and marine "beasts" - and make them fall in love with them. Inspired by the wondrous illustrations of the "Bestiario del Reyno de Chile" and the "Astro Memo" game, the team created a beautiful book full of facts and curiosities about some of the most extraordinary creatures of the seas and skies.
