kostenlos! GIZ-Podiumsdiskussion: Indigene Perspektiven und der Erhalt des Amazonas-Tropenwaldes – Impulse für Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit
In the organizer's words:
The Amazon tropical forest is not only a unique habitat for countless species, but also a decisive factor in stabilizing the global climate. Indigenous communities have been guardians of this ecosystem for generations and have valuable knowledge for its sustainable protection. For decades, German development cooperation has been working in close partnership with the countries bordering the Amazon and indigenous organizations to preserve this sensitive natural area.
The exhibition "AMAZÔNIA. Indigenous Worlds" opens up impressive visual and emotional access to this important ecosystem of our planet and focuses on the close connection between nature and the indigenous peoples living there. As part of the exhibition, the evening event will highlight the central role of the Amazon basin for global biodiversity conservation and climate protection as well as the importance of the indigenous peoples living there.
The event will bring together representatives of indigenous peoples, the Brazilian and German governments, experts from German development cooperation, the scientific community and an interested specialist audience.
We look forward to seeing you there!
