Krishna Danced: A Special Guided Tour on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Museum Fünf Kontinente
In this guided tour, curatorAnne Hartig, Ph.D. / J.N. University, New Delhi, and dancerBrigitta Hegedueswill guide you through the special exhibition“Krishna: Religion, Art, and Pop Culture.”
Inspired by classical Indian dance traditions such as Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, key episodes from Krishna’s life will be depicted through dance at selected stations. These include stories from his childhood, his relationship with his beloved Radha, and his battle with the serpent demon Kaliya.
Dancer Brigitta Hegedues presents selected dance sequences and explains their significance. In this way, visitors experience how individual characters, actions, and entire stories can be portrayed through gestures, posture, and movement.
The guided tour thus offers a new perspective on the exhibits and brings the stories of the multifaceted Hindu deity’s life and deeds to life in a striking way.
