In his audiovisual lecture“Psychedelic Exotica or Pop-Folk for the Whole Family? Transcultural Connections in Pop Music,” Tuncay Acar uses concrete examples to show how distinctive melodies recur time and again and influence contemporary pop culture.

Tuncay Acar is a DJ, musician, blogger, and cultural activist who grew up in Munich and Istanbul. In his work, he deliberately deconstructs dominant concepts of cultural identity.
