Langer Donnerstag im Museum Ludwig: Night of Zines! 15 Jahre MISSY Magazine

Our last Long Thursday for the year 2023 has the motto "Night of Zines! 15 years of MISSY". To mark the anniversary of the feminist magazine and to coincide with our presentation of Picasso's print Suite 156 , we are inviting editor Sonja Eismann to give a talk in our museum. It will be about the history of MISSY, historical role models and the motivation to produce a magazine herself. We will talk about the lack of visibility of female artists and cultural producers and why it is important to counter this lack in a self-determined way.

Do it yourself! is the motto of many of these small-budget publications that call themselves magazines, fanzines or simply zines. Tonight is an opportunity to get to know some great local and national zines! funk magazine is a store for independent magazines here in Cologne, which will be presenting a table full of small independent magazines to match the evening.

The Cologne-based fanzine Grapefruits focuses on female composers and sound artists. Elisa and Risto (CMD) from the editorial team will be playing female* sounds through time and spacetoday .
