Lebensräume – Zeitgenössische Perspektiven aus NRW
In the organizer's words:
Taking different locations in North Rhine-Westphalia as a starting point, the exhibition uses 14 positions to examine key aspects of the present. There is a strong focus on urban space, industrial structures and the many facets of society and social interaction.
The current approach to the legacies of the past is also reflected upon, with an outlook into future contexts. Included are artists from several generations based in NRW, some with biographies that point to international countries of origin. Their photographic work series, created between the 1990s and 2024, are presented in both color and black and white, including filmic works.
With works by Almourad Aldeeb, Paul Avis, Boris Becker, Frank Dömer, Emine Ercihan, Kathrin Esser, Claudia Fährenkemper, Katharina Kemme, Alexander Lackmann, Jeffrey Ladd, Melina Lehmacher, Gregor Schneider, Gerhard Winkler, Philip Zietmann

Thematic focus on the first Sunday of the month
