The "Lenn Smidt Organic Trio" plays the compositions of the Berlin bandleader, which are all about groove, melody and lively interplay. In a trio with drums, electric bass and keys (piano, Rhodes and Hammond), they tell musical stories they have found together. The trio's groove gets straight into your blood and their virtuosity stands out, while always remaining organic. The three of them have developed a way of working in which they work out the music together and then develop it playfully in the moment. Their repertoire ranges from jam pieces to sophisticated compositions.

The three musicians have been playing together since 2017 and the first album is due to be released next year. All of them bring their own musical influences to the table:� Pianist and keyboardist Lennart Smidt grew up with classical music, but preferred to improvise and, after studying jazz in Hanover and Groningen, devoted himself to free improv in Amsterdam and Brazilian music in Brazil. With his first solo album "Boomerang", recorded at Funkhaus Berlin, he brought these influences together in a deep listening album.

�He met bassist Benson Itoe in Groningen at the Prins Claus Conservatorium when he was finishing his jazz studies. He was already an integral part of the Dutch scene, having grown up in Cameroon around West African music. He has become known for taking every band to a new level with his experience across all styles.

Drummer John Winston Berta is a true multi-talent between jazz, folk and funk. On his first album "Right To Wonder" (2020), he played almost all the instruments, and he also performs on stage as a singer, guitarist and bassist. Originally from Hanover with British-Hungarian roots, he subtly brings every groove to life on the drums.
