Leonie Schöler: Stolen Women - The Show
With her bestseller "Beklaute Frauen", historian and author Leonie Schöler has brought the invisible heroines of history into the limelight - and in 2026 she is going one step further. To mark the publication of the paperback edition, she is putting her stories where they belong: in the middle of life, on stage. Under the title "Beklaute Frauen - Die Show", she will be touring Germany in March 2026: Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Heidelberg, Munich and Stuttgart.
Instead of a traditional reading, the audience can expect a multimedia evening that makes history tangible. In each city, Leonie Schöler introduces a new, previously little-known woman whose biography is closely linked to the region. She unfolds her stories on stage like a live research project: with excerpts from the book, original photos, archive material, TV interviews and videos. The result is an evening in which the audience not only listens, but has the feeling of being directly involved in the search for traces of the past.
A special highlight: there will be special guests in each city who will round off the evening with live music, exciting panels or show acts. This makes every evening unique. But the show always poses the same question: what happens when we bring women back from history - and what does that change in our present?
"Beklaute Frauen - Die Show" is a mixture of reading, documentary, concert and talk that brings feminist historiography to the big stage. An evening for everyone who wants to see history in a new light - and celebrate the women who finally have the spotlight.
