“Whether you’re a (semi-)pro or an amateur, whether it’s poetry, short stories, or just thoughts, dreams, and memories—it doesn’t matter. Everyone invited by the organizer gets ten minutes on stage. And the stories are just like the name of the bar where the ‘reading stage’ is making a guest appearance: ‘Wundertüte’ (Surprise Bag). Moving pieces about a friend’s suicide, Cologne crime stories, or funny tales. And sometimes just trivial things.

For the audience members who have come, this evening is like an adventure. A glimpse into unknown worlds. A brief ten minutes, illuminated as if by a spotlight with a dazzling beam that then suddenly shifts position and reveals something new. Often interrupted by loud laughter.”
