Two brothers couldn’t be more different. One, Hermann Göring, enthusiastically joins Hitler and rises through the ranks of the murderous Nazi regime. The other, his brother Albert Göring, despises the inhumanity of the Nazis. William Hastings Burke set out to trace the life of Albert Göring, who died in Munich in 1966, and meticulously researched his largely unknown life story. During the Nazi regime, Albert Göring collaborated with the Czech resistance and saved the lives of thirty-four people by organizing—and often financing—their escape from Germany or Austria.
