What is cool is always determined by others - as is the case in the life of the narrator, who has known from an early age what it means not to be slim, tough or edgy enough. Fearing the embarrassment of life, she hides behind the expectations of others, behind those of her nutella-hating father, her snooty boyfriend Fabian, her far too cool employer. It is only when Flora, Josef and Rosalie (and a pretty good therapist) enter her life that her courage slowly outweighs her fear of the cringe. Together they ask themselves the question: what is a cringe-free life worth if you lose yourself in the process? She dares to look for an answer with the people who love her not in spite of but precisely because of this. And finds it somewhere between pina coladas, No Angels songs and a crazy mountain hike.
