Exactly thirty years ago, Alex Capus published his first collection of stories, "This Cursed Gravity", and since then fourteen more books of short stories, novels and reportages have followed. His novel "Léon and Louise" enchanted us all with a dreamlike and tragic love story, and the author's talent for storytelling has been no secret to many people around the world since this book at the latest.

In his latest work, Alex Capus tells us a very personal story about his love of literature and a life in harmony with himself. About the simplicity of things, letting go and finding fulfillment in the small details of our lives. The wonderful sentences melt in your mouth and leave you with a warm feeling of contentment - a real balm in these highly complex times. The book is set in Italy in the nineties. Alex Capus moves into a lonely stone house on the sunny slope of a vineyard. He spends a lot of time there with his girlfriend and friends, where he seeks solitude to write his first novel. How do you find contentment in life? Why always try a new pizza when your usual Pizza Fiorentina is perfectly fine? Why hunt for ever more beautiful beaches when the first one is already good?
