Lesung mit Hannes Liebrandt: Tatort Geschichte

In their book, the creators of the podcast “Tatort Geschichte,” Niklas Fischer and Hannes Liebrandt, explore historical crimes that continue to have an impact to this day. They explore the question of why people become murderers in the first place and how political conflicts escalate into wars, pogroms, and bloody uprisings. After all, the consequences are often still felt centuries later. The historical crimes—ranging from Alexander the Great to the Medici family and the Hungarian “Blood Countess” Elisabeth Báthory—are contextualized within their respective eras and examined against the backdrop of social and technological developments as well as prevailing ideologies.

Dr. Hannes Liebrandt studied history, German language and literature, political science, sociology, and education in Bayreuth and Berlin. He earned his doctorate at the Chair of Modern History at the University of Bayreuth and is currently working on his habilitation thesis at LMU Munich.
