Mirabellentage - A summer full of new beginnings and the scent of freedom Shimmering heat over the lake, the buzzing in the fields and the taste of mirabelles. Martina Bogdahn takes us into an eventful summer. In her new novel from the 'Mühlensommer' cosmos, she tells a warm-hearted and humorous story of a life between routines, duties and letting go. Of a last wish and a long-kept secret. About a woman who questions everything and gains a new perspective on life. Because her freedom is not far away, it is the narrow path on which she walks. When the local priest Josef dies unexpectedly, the orderly world of his housekeeper Anna is shaken. What will happen now? First she has to organize the funeral, take charge of the young replacement priest Fridtjof - and then Josef's ashes have to go to the sea. Anna, in her early fifties, takes driving lessons from her former driving instructor and secret crush, Mr. Tanner. Together they explore the Franconian region around Blumfeld and remember an almost forgotten life. The smell of summer, the color of ripe mirabelle plums, hard work and little escapes from everyday life.
