Linoldruck: Lesezeichen – Workshop
In the organizer's words:
Now that the evenings are getting shorter again and the temperatures are cooling off, we’re kicking off a cozy fall. We’ll drink tea and nibble on pastries, maybe chat about our favorite books, and print our own beautiful bookmarks while we’re at it.
In this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of linocut printing. I’ll give you a brief introduction to the materials and technique, and then you can get started right away. You’ll choose your own design, transfer it to your vinyl plate, and then start carving. Once you’re happy with your plate, you’ll apply the ink and print your design onto a bookmark. It doesn’t matter if this technique is completely new to you, if it’s been a while since you last tried it, or if you’re already an enthusiastic print artist. I’ll be on hand at all times to offer help and answer any questions. At the end, each participant will take their printing plate home—and, of course, the bookmarks they’ve created—to add a little more joy to your reading.
We’ll draw, tinker, and get creative together. You’re welcome to come alone or sign up as a group. There’s room for a maximum of 10 participants. Everyone is welcome—including children, of course. However, due to the sharp tools, I recommend this workshop for ages 10 and up. I’ll bring tea, water, and some snacks for you; other cold drinks can be purchased from the on-site refrigerator.
All materials will be provided. No prior experience is necessary.
